Rombach and Haas – 8-Day, 1-Wind, Kapuziner, Shield Style, Hand-Painted, Monk 7378
Bring an atmosphere of historic charm into your home with this 8-day Rombach and Haas chiming pendulum clock. The “Kapuziner” shield style clock is an authentic replica of a Black Forest timepiece of the early 19th century, when a variety of animated figures
were used before the cuckoo bird became fashionable. Bell ringing monks, laughing faces, beer drinkers and the dumpling eaters were just some of the winsome examples used for the “pre-cuckoo” clock versions.
At the top of each hour and every half hour a pious monk dutifully pulls the string that sounds bell of the clock. The facade of this clock, showcasing a charming “old world” patina, is hand painted by award-winning Conny Haas of Rombach and Haas. Each clock is slightly different making each timepiece distinctively a one-of-a-kind.
