The highly intricate visible gear train system moves the miniature sun, moon and earth spheres, reproducing the earth’s yearly orbit of the sun, with the earth rotating on its axis every 24 hours. The gear train also reproduces all of the moon phases with the moon rotating fully on its axis and revolving around the earth in 29.5 days. And throughout the year you can follow all twelve zodiac signs, months, and individual days, all displayed on the polished brass disc.
